Facebook PPC Marketing - You Better Learn It!
The newest rage, particularly after Google's recent changes to their AdWords guidelines (that I'm admittedly still trying to figure out) is Facebook PPC (Pay Per Click) Marketing. There has been talk about Facebook Marketing for sometime now, but that's more about strategic use of the social network. Friending fellow network marketers and then subtly recruiting them into your business. That's not what I want to talk about here. Facebook now allows you to set up PPC ads, just like Google, Yahoo, and Bing, and then laser target them for maximum effectiveness. I am not an expert (yet) on Facebook PPC marketing but I know enough to get results and I wanted to share what I know so far with you. Enjoy!
The Ad
For those of us in network marketing, you need to know that the Facebook ad approval team does not like us. Based on my experience, you will not be able to get an ad approved that mentions or talks about a home business, making money from home, or any sort of income potential. Your best bet to get an ad approved is to either add value (with a blog) or to focus on lead generation (showing others how to generate leads for their business). I have done the latter.
Laser Targeted Marketing
The really appealing aspect of Facebook PPC is how you can really super target the demographics of the users who you want to see your ad. You can target your ads, based on people's Facebook profile information, by:
- Country
- Language
- Age
- Sex
- Interested In
- Relationship
- Likes and Interests
- Education
- Workplaces
- Connections and Friends of Connections
Cost
The PPC cost, for now, is less expensive than Google but not really be a whole lot. I would not decide to use Facebook PPC because of price as much as because of how you really drill down to create your target audience. And, there's much less competition. You can pay for either on a Pay Per Click (CPC) or a Pay Per Impression (CPM). I recommend that you pay per click, particularly until you figure out what's working for you and what is not. You will also be told the price range that you should remain between if you want your ad shown. Of the few ads that I've written, it's been recommended that I stay around $1 per click. I will be adding more on this subject, as well as LinkedIn PPC, as time goes on. Please share your experiences and I will publish them here.
